Replacing an existing dilapidated house, this new ultra low energy, modernist home was born from an initial study comparing options to reuse and upgrade the original house, with the possibilities and performance of an entirely new dwelling. The compact form of the new house belies a fluid internal arrangement, with private spaces (bedrooms, study, formal living etc.) sitting within internal huts and the communal, public living spaces flowing freely around them.

At first floor a family sitting area bridges the voids over the dining and entrance halls, with the parents bedroom suite on one side, and the children's bedrooms, along with laundry, plant and storage, on the other. Watch the space as this exciting new house emerges from the ground and takes shape through 2025 and into 2026.
