The client bought the property, which, whilst originally two cottages, had for many years been used as an auction house, then artist’s studio, as a speculative development opportunity. We gained planning permission for two new houses behind the retained façade, with a new large basement, a lower ground floor, ground floor and first floor. Planning permission for a new second floor, within a revised roof form, is currently being sought, and the basement works have commenced.
