We have completely reimagined the home behind this historic Victorian shop front in Islington, transforming the bones of this traditional terraced house into a calming and tranquil haven flooded with light.

A relaxed, airy new sitting area has been created at ground floor level. Beyond, the existing rear reception room has been cut away to create an airy atrium between the ground floor and the levels below, allowing the new sitting area a view of the garden and connecting it to the new living areas beneath.

The lower levels of the house have been extensively remodeled and extended with a high quality, contemporary and complementary rear extension, providing drastically improved, fluid living accommodation. Touched by light from the atrium above, a sitting area at this level flows into the dining area and the kitchen beyond. An existing roof-light above the historic shop front in the kitchen has been enlarged to maximise light flow. A useful WC and utility area has been tucked into the existing vaults running under the pavement.
